lazy days... TSTR #178

As summer is coming to a close in my neck of the woods, I'm savouring every last lazy summer day I can! I'd love to just sit and relax on the porch in our inspiration photo this week for our challenge over at TSTR! This week Starr is our hostess and asks that we create a card/project using:
                                                  *COLOURS from the photo
                                                  *ADD A METAL element.

My sentiment today is pretty perfect for a lazy summer evening and comes from the Join Me for Tea set from Paper Sweeties who is our sponsor this week in The Shabby Tea Room!  Play along with us this week and you could win 2 sets of your own to create with!

I'm kind of liking the mustardy yellow(pulled from the curtains) and the pale blue(roof) combo. I'm sure I will come back to it again... Join me as I check out what the Shabby Girls have created this week:

                                        Debbie- Paper Sweeties

                                         Lenet- To Scrap or Not to Scrap

                                         Rebecca- Paper Primrose

                                         Tracey- Trace Elementz

Happy Monday!

frame it...TSTR #156

025

This week's challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room is set by our hostess Tracey and it's another fab challenge to get your gears going. Tracey asks that we create a card/project using:
                                         *WHITE plus ONE OTHER COLOUR
                                                         * ADD A FRAME

photo inspiration #156

Our sponsor this week is Debbie's Paper Sweeties, and that's  where my sweet sentiment came from. I used the 'You are Simply the Best' Sentiment stamp set to add to my card.
I just love greys and white lately, so I was so excited for the challenge this week. I paired up a few different MME papers and added a Maya Road chipboard heart frame. I painted it white, and added some shimmery sparkly glitter.

shabby autumn...TSTR #139

Hello Monday! Hello Shabby new challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. Debbie is our host this week and asks that we create a card/project and use:

                                            * COLOURS FROM THE PHOTO
                                            * INCLUDE A PUMPKIN
                                            * MAKE IT SHABBY!

Both of our fabby shabby sponsors are offering up great prizes this week: Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps is offering up 5 digi images and Paper Sweeties is offering 1 stamp set.. Such great prizes I hope you all play along!

I worked with the Ornate Frame (Robyn's) and Banner Wishes (Paper Sweeties) to create my Thanksgiving place settings for the table.I used the Ornate frame as a base and layered on top of it.

Banner Wishes is perfect to use for writing in people's names to find their special spot at the table..

I inked, painted and shabbied up a Crafty Secrets pumpkin to add to my felt leaves.. all ready for Thanksgiving!

Make sure to pop by the rest of the Shabby Girl's blogs to see what they created this week!

the WHITE challenge...TSTR #133

Happy Monday to you! Are you ready for another Shabby Tea Room challenge? This week Lenet has challenged us to a WHITE challenge.. She asks that we create a card or project and use:

                                       *WHITE + ONE ADDITIONAL COLOUR
                                       * you can include additional neutrals (Black, cream, kraft, brown)

This week Debbie's Paper Sweeties are our sponsor.. I used "You're a Superstar!" set for my project. Play along with us this week and you can win 2 sets of your choice!

For my project I knew I wanted to add lots of different layers and textures, it being a white challenge. White on white can tend to get lost and blend into each other.. So, I started with an impression plate for the background and went from there.

Doily, embossed borders, flowers, beads and pins.. seam binding ribbon... all yummy additions to the card. I added the sheet music as my one other neutral colour (black) just to highlight the bird cage and other details.

Make sure to stop by the other Shabby Girl blogs to see what projects they created with their Paper Sweeties stamp sets!
