sweet baby...

Remember a few posts back I said I was working on some mini albums? Well, I'm happy to say that I've finished one. It's my first so tread gentle...would love to hear what you think about it. I love it to pieces; can see where I can improve for next time..oh the journey is my favourite part of crafting..always learning, exploring and improving along the way.
This baby album was made with my friend Susan in mind..I hope to surprise her with it..hope she will have fun filling it with pictures and memories of being a first time mama...

I had so much fun creating this mini album. I'm not really into scrapbooking myself, but I had seen many posts on mini albums and I was hooked. Of course when I went looking for mini chipboard albums I couldn't find any...then one day I happened to look in the $1.50 section at Michaels and they had a bunch of great shaped ones..on sale..such a deal..I now have a stockpile of them..
The cover..possibly my fave page of the album. The onesie was fun to make..and I used my fave P.T.I set as well..how could I resist. I love the soft feel of the cream and blues together. The tab can be used to write in the date of birth and baby's name...
The inside of the cover..had to part with some of my Melissa Frances goodies here..well worth it..

A little pocket to add precious memories...vintage trims add to the shabby feel I was going for. More P.T.I stamps and Prima papers..
A spot to tuck a photo..
Little feet are adorable...
Front and back of a page inserted..Keeping track of first teeth.
Some more Melissa Frances goodies, Prima paper and Tim Holtz stamps..
Another photo page...
An envelope insert to keep little tabs in..perhaps all the little cards that come with flower bouquets...
I couldn't bear to cover up Mr. Rabbit. The back cover (inside)
And the outside back cover..stamped to match the front, and all distressed to look vintage and shabby..
All in all I feel very satisfied; glad that I finally finished it. Can't wait to start on another...
Thanks for visiting!

bee thankful...

I just love spring...it signals that my favourite season is just around the corner;summer..How I love summer, being an island girl and all.For now I will be satisfied with all that spring has to offer: the cherry blossoms, daffodils sprouting up, the warm sunny weather, gardening...ohhhh, it's love I tell ya.
My guy has requested some thank-you cards and as always, I'm happy to oblige..can't deny him, oh no. I'm so lucky he supports my creativity, and understands that if my craft area looks messy to him, it's bliss to me...lucky lucky girl here...

So using Kazan's sketch over on 2 Sketches 4 You I came up with this sweet card(pun intended) for my guy.

I will be turning to this sketch time and time again. So versatile, yet simple, many cards to be made...I've turned back to my K&Company obsession here-thought I could get away from it, but no, they draw me back every time...I adore their products...some tea dyed vintage edging found on a local excursion to thrift stores sits pretty beside a nice fat piece of cream ribbon...I had to part with one of my hoarded Tattered Angels frames..all glittered up with marshmallow (love that name!!) glimmer mist and added some Prima flowers up on top. Stamps used here are from P.T.I and Tim Holtz...
Well, it's time for me to go..my favourite part of the night is coming...craft time then relaxing with some super shows...
Contentment I tell ya...
Thanks for your visit!

tea-dye and twill tape...

Can you guess what I was up to this afternoon? Got a nice stash of twill tape from the local thrift store and dyed up a batch..It's one of my fave things to add to cards...love the texture and its shabby feel once its had a nice soak in some tea.
Here's another card based off of one of my fave sketch sites...as you probably have read from previous posts, I recently have taken to using sketch sites for inspiration and to challenge myself. And let me tell you this site has soo much to offer..I have much to look over and attempt...
I just adore this sketch...can use it over and over again...features some of my fave elements...lets hope you like my take on it this week...
Again, a lot of my favourite things used here..some (non dyed) twill tape, stamps, distress ink...flowers and half pearls...Mmmm...my fave P.T.I stamp set was put into use again..Background Basics-Text style...my fingers just seem to reach for them  every time. They get a lot of use around my studio...I just can't get enough...Inkadinkado Dot Flourishes add a little whirl at the top there...Stamped my new Stampology journal block on cream card stock and used another fave P.T.I set (Giga Guide Lines) to stamp a pattern with Versamark in the background...little touches that make me so happy..
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do...
Off now to make some scrunched seam binding:)
Night friends!

april showers...

bring May flowers.. Yep, no doubt you've heard that before. What April brings me is birthdays, graduation and a move across country. Busy busy, but exciting times ahead. A lot to look forward to and be thankful for.
This post will be short and sweet. Have a messy craft desk to clear off to start anew. Here is the creation I came up with for another wonderful Lilybean photo challenge!
Here is the inspiration photo.. from a Creative Mint..courtesy of the very talented Leslie.. Isn't it a treat? Lots to pull from.

I do apologize for the lack of light. It's been a rainy, overcast month and my light box wasn't doing the trick this day..Will try and do another photo shoot and update the photos. I decided to pull out a paler colour scheme of greens, blue, pink and cream. Lots of inspiration jumping off points in the photo.. I chose to stick with flowers, polka dots, stripes, and that gorgeous border punched edge peeking out in the photo. It may be hard to see but the envelope has handwritten text stamped with Versa mark ink. I stamped polka dots on my main card stock in light green. If you click on the image it zooms in...A lot of Papertrey Ink stamps used here.. Polka dot basics II, Giga Guide lines(stamped in pale pale blue on cream card stock..how I love those colours!)Background Basics Textstyle (I swear I will wear this one out first! I use it everywhere.) Some Inkadinkado Swirls round out the stamps used..
Well, I am off.. hope to get a few more posts in before I leave to see my guy graduate next week!
Thanks for stopping by!
