for B....

This post is a little delayed.. been a little busy.. trying to find the right words, compose them, make sure my sweetie knows this is just  for him...This is a card I made for my guy.. for our anniversary.. tried my best not to make it too girlie.. so his troop mates won't make fun should they over see it.. but let him know that he inspires my creativity, and how I miss him so...

It's been a few months since hes been away training..and while I cant say on here for what exactly, I know he's doing it for our future.. and I often forget this..on lonely nights, when things aren't going right.. but in the end it will be for the best! We've been together for 8 wonderful years.Time flies when you are having fun.
He is such a sweetheart..gorgeous.. I know I don't often say it, but feel this everyday: I love your honesty, your strength..you are smart, generous, gentle, ...amazing. I love that you chose me to walk this journey with you..

"The days have come and gone,Our lives went by so fast.. I faintly remember breathing on your bedroom floor,Where I laid and told you, but you swear you loved me more..."

Love you
Love B

thinking of you...and a challenge too

 Hello friends!
What a wonderful morning I've had, fingers happily playing with bits and bobs, pretty papers, ink and stamps. I created this gem for a challenge issues by Melis over on her beautiful blog Her inspiration photo is a beauty. She supplies a link to the original blog, and let me tell you, its beautiful, inspirational, uplifting work. Just as Melissa's blog is for me. So I decided to play along, as I am in a rut creativity wise, and need a challenge or two...
I decided to pick up on the beautiful, creamy colours in the photo, the pinks, burgandy, cream, and white.

If you look in the background of the photo on her blog, there's a hint of embossing on the fabric.. so I picked up on that for my card and used one of my fav new stamps(which I got from my sister..ohhh how she loves me and knows what I love!) to add some detail to the freehand shape nestled under the creamy ribbon...Hand stitched some cute little flowers from some edging I have lying around(I have oodles of edgings), added a mini lacy doily to the centre and topped it off with an antiqued pearl...be still my heart.. I love the effect of them..

Voila! The complete card.. I fall more and more for K & Company papers.. so girlie, soft, muted colours...Mmmmm. Basic Grey paper peeking through in the background..and I have to mention and draw attention to my bow.. if you know me, I am all thumbs when it comes to tying pretty bows, but here I seemed to master it.. I'm proud of the way it came out.. my one pat on the back for myself. :)
Hope to get this in before the deadline..nervous over here... Melissa does some pretty amazing things with paper, stamps and bits and bobs.. my little contribution over here.
I hear snow is on the way this week..a nice little treat..as long as it leaves quickly.
Have a good night friends!

precious cargo..

Hey there!
Hope that where ever you are, your day is going great.... I'm just over the moon about this card.. my first ever baby card. My friend Suze is having a little baby and I just wanted to send her out a congrats card. I love love love this little buggy.. and I made it.. yep.. lil ole me.. just a  *teeny* bit happy over how it turned out...

This Christmas I picked up some K&Company papers(Life's Journey) and just fell head over heels for these little dictionary blocks.. it fits perfectly for this card, don't ya think?

Don't you just love the vintage images from that Life's Journey line? I sure do.. Some lacy flourishes, half pearls, and a Tattered Angels frame round out the card here. Now, if only I could get the angles right and capture its sparkly goodness, everything would be right in the world! One of these days.. one.of.these.days.. (at least that's what I keep telling myself.)

Well, that about wraps things up for me today.
Have a wonderful weekend.. I know I sure will

tuesday trigger

Ok,
So I'm attempting my first "tuesday trigger" over on the Moxie Fab blog.. Here is the inspiration..turquoise and gold... yummy colour combo..

I love the vintage wallpaper pattern..  Here's a sneaky peak:

And the whole picture..

It's hard to tell, (since I'm still fighting with Mr.Nikon), that the frame is glittery gold..but trust me.. it is.. I used TA Glimmer Mist in Iridescent Gold.. Such a yummy colour...makes me smile.. If you read back to the previous post, you'll see where the flat framed font comes from.. since I hoard my TA framed fonts like its no ones business!  Some K&Company papers in the background. PTI stamps, and some lacy goodness complete this card for the challenge..
Wish me luck. I've no idea how to post these things!
Thanks for stopping by!

a little birdie told me...

Boy, have I ever fallen in love with this cute little image from Tim Holtz. I'm finding all sorts of places to perch its 'tweet' goodness.. This card was for my sisters friends birthday. Used a whole bunch of images that make me smile... Papertrey Giga Guide Lines (told you I use this stamp just about everywhere) clear embossed on Basic Grey papers.. Just look at those bird cages.. I broke down and used a Tattered Angels framed font for this one.. along with some Glimmer Mist( its not too visible here) A little lacy border, half pearls and blinging embellies round up the fun here. Very girlie, very simple... overall loveliness..
What a great day yesterday was... sunshine, spring type weather. Perfect for catching up with a friend over coffee.. Hope every day is like yesterday was.. such a great break from the grey, drizzle and rainy weather we are so used to here on the West Coast..Only one card to share for today.. now its off to work for this girl!
Thanks for stopping by!

you make me smile....

Happy Sunday!
Its a grey, drizzly day here. The fire is cracking in the fireplace, and I've decided to get with this New Years {posting} resolution, which has been broken already.. ah well.. No one really sticks to those things anyways do they? A little more organization on my part and I'll be on my way...
That being said, I made this up for my guys mom.. to thank her for all the thoughtful, sweet Christmas gifts..lots of scrapbooking goodness to make this girl happy. They are being put to good use, let me tell you!

Now,I have to admit.. I absolutely ADORE Tattered Angels Framed Fonts.. I hoard them, since I've yet to find a Canadian supplier (at least one close to me). That being said, I found a cool use to the background bits that you peel off to reveal the wonderful sticky surface of the frames... This way I can extend the time between stocking up on product...This one I painted a lovely cream colour and sprayed on some Glimmer Mist in Iridescent Gold and some Vintage Pink was smeared on top as well..  I just love the background stamps my sister got me for Christmas. You can see it shyly peeking through from behind the frame. I heat embossed it with some white embossing powder to make it pop ever so slightly. *content sigh*

And the finished product. All shabby chic, just how I like it. I fell in love with this trim, which I picked up at a thrift store(you'd be amazed at the fab trims you can pick up for a steal!), another thing I tend to hoard..trims.. All the pretty vintage-y, shabby things that make my heart smile! Some of my fav PTI stamps, Background Basics Text style, and Signature Greetings..
Overall happiness from my end..

Welcome 2010!

Happy New Year!

I'm back after a lengthy absence.. lots to share over the coming days. My new years resolution is to post more frequently! Was working on a new website... will let you know how that goes once I get it up and running:)
So here are a few Christmas cards that kept me busy and away from the blog! Many pics for this post...

A winter wonderland card.. non-traditional.. the snowflakes are embossed. I'm terrible at photographing my cards.. I vow to learn more bout my Nikon and get these pics better! They do no justice to the actual cards..

One I made for my sister:) Love, love, love Peaceful Poinsettia by Papertrey Ink. Got it in a few weeks before Christmas and am I glad that I did.. its so versatile and pretty...

Giga Guide Lines is another of my FAV stamps of 2009.. Just fell in love with this sweet little image... I used it everywhere this year.
All things Papertrey Ink. I've got a bad habit of ordering these stamps. They are all just sooo versatile and I love them all. Gotta rein myself in from ordering every month!

A mix of Signature Christmas( Papertrey Ink) and Tim Holtz (who doesn't love his products? I'm so in love with his vintage styles..)

Another Tim Holtz stamp. I think this little birdie is ADORABLE! I heat embossed it, trimmed it out with some scissors and Voila! Grunge board numbers hang off the little branch so perfectly!

Simple Christmas card. Loved making these...

Giga Guide lines again here.. love how this one reminds me of a snowflake..

Sorry bout the washed out pic.. It's a real lovely dark burgandy card stock.. Mr. Nikon and I were at odds this day... Basic Grey papers and Inkadinkado stamps round out this card..

Here's Peaceful Poinsettia again.. just love love love this image!
Well, a bit of a lengthy post, but a good start to 2010.. Keep an eye out for some more cards coming soon! Lots to share with you...
Thanks for stoppin' by
