spring is love...TSTR #112

Hi Sweets!

It's spring time over at The Shabby Tea Room! This week Debbie is our host and she asks that we use:
the COLOURS from the photo,
INCLUDE FLOWERS,
POLKA DOTS
and a HEART.

Little Darlings Rubber Stamps is our sponsor this week and up for grabs is one stamp set for the lucky winner! We all got to play with this darling image. It's called "So big".

I decided to make up a tag for a gift bag with the image. Kept it simple with the shading on my image.. just wanted to highlight certain parts. Isn't it precious. I just want to reach out and pat that little blonde head!

Doesn't that sentiment say it all?

A sweet little millinery flower and a little heart tag.. such an easy way to include a heart on your project, just as required.

Don't forget to visit the Shabby Team for some more inspiration with this sweet image

love stories...

"Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, Love gives us a fairy tale."-Anonymous

Popping in today with a card for some of our best friends. One of the sweetest couples I know. They are celebrating one year of married life together. How wonderful. I made them a card celebrating their wedding last year. Time is flying by!

I'm still having a love affair with birds and cages again, along with Pretty Prima and My Minds Eye papers...loving the post card peeking out.

I'm finding I love adding dimension to the card..the birds, cage and anniversary sign are all different levels thanks to pop dots!

Handmade cameo stick pin.. some antiqued pearls.. tea stained doily.. paired with Prima and My Minds Eye papers.. love love. I hope they enjoy it as much as I do.

Happy 1st Anniversary Lex and Steve.. and to many, many more!
Love

april flowers...TSTR #111

Happy Monday Lovelies,

It's challenge time over at The Shabby Tea Room. Our shabby hostess is Starr and she asks that we create a card or project using:
*THE COLOURS IN THE INSPIRATION PICTURE.
                        * LACE or RIBBON
                        * FLOWERS.
*REMEMBER: to be eligible for top honours and prizes to make sure to include ALL of the requirements and to LINK BACK to The Shabby Tea Room.

Lets play shall we? This week our sponsor is The Cutting Cafe and I chose to play with the Umbrella Shaped Card Set. You can win 3 files of your choice!! I decided to do a baby shower invite and a 'thank-you' gift bag to go along with it for guests.

Kept it sweet and simple..these files are just a breeze to work with..Decorated with Melissa Frances papers.. some dainty lacy trim..flower button and you know I had to include a tag.

Love that the files already have this printed in it..one for baby shower and one for a bridal!

That sweet little umbrella on the gift bag is the same file, just re-sized to 50%.

And the set together:

hello Friday...

Hello weeks end...

Hello sunshine and rising temperatures...

Hello happy puppy on our daily walks(even though it's still chilly)...

Hello friend Cam, who I ran into at the post office(love seeing people out and about)...

Hello spring cleaning, goodbye winter things(good riddance)...

Hello sweet, fresh strawberries and Greek yoghurt with honey(my fave new treat)...

Hello my sweet fur-faced girl, getting into mischief(and crashing my photo shoots)...

Hello family bonds, growing stronger as ever this week especially...

Hello to finding strength in tough times.

Hello life!

A couple cards to share today...a new and growing obsession with birdcages... I fell in love with Cherry's and ran with the idea. So inspired by her work! I've made quite a few cards with this image(from The Graphics Fairy). There's something about it that just draws me in and I'm fixated.. Bear with me as I post them. I hope you don't grow tired of them..
My post today is a reminder of a tough week..Especially for my guy..One I don't want to repeat-a death in the family. A tough week of being apart but trying to make the most of it. Of family ties and bonds strengthened..of daily routines..of reminders that family is all around me, even if we aren't blood related. I'm looking forward to seeing my guy tomorrow. Not so much the 8 hour round trip to the airport.. *sigh* Looking forward to the rest of the weekend with my guy.
I'll be back with my Shabby Tea Room post at the beginning of the week.
Talk soon friends!

beautiful roses...TSTR #110

Hey lovelies!It's Tea Time!

Won't you join us this week at The Shabby Tea Room? We have another great challenge set by Tammy, our shabby hostess this week! She asks us to create a card/project INSPIRED BY the photo and to use the colours WHITE OR CREAM, PINK, AQUA and to INCLUDE FLOWERS.
**Remember ladies, we want you to be eligible for top honours and prizes so make sure you follow the requirements and not solely rely on the photo.**

Our shabby sponsor this week is My Time Made Easy, and let me tell you I had SO much fun playing with the Round and Round template. Up for grabs this week: 1 template, papers and digi set!!

My inspiration for my project comes in the form of wedding season! "Something old, something new, something borrowed and sometime blue!" My little gift box is for the bride, (perhaps from her bridesmaids) and inside you could put items(or an item that encompasses the whole rhyme) and present it to her on her wedding day.

A vintage image(The Graphics Fairy) and elegant embossed swirls(JustRiteStamps) Sweet trim around the edge...

Cream and pink seam binding(5dollarfrenchmarket) A chipboard letter of the name of the bride.. pretty millinery flowers and some diamond bling..'cuz every bride needs it! Tea stained doily..

The inside of the box is lined in blueish aqua.. and this box holds a dear old, and blue hankie of my grandfathers. Something I will carry on my own wedding day.. the 'new' is the gift box.. I just need something borrowed..

And there you have it. MTME template all dolled up! Don't forget to visit the other shabby gals to see what they created:

birthday bash...TSTR #109

Hey sweets!
Its time again for our challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. This week I'm your hostess and the theme is 'Birthday Bash" Use the photo as inspiration and create a BIRTHDAY CARD/PROJECT using a CUPCAKE IMAGE/SHAPE on or as your project. Simple right? Let's get started.

Our fabby shabby sponsor this week is Digital Delights and this week you can win a $5 GIFT CERTIFICATE.. Are you ready to play?

I've said before I'm obsessed with cupcakes..all sorts.edible and paper ones. I'm using one of my fave go-to dies from PTI. This is an all girly version (I did an all boy version). Once again I had to add some frilly streamers.. what's a party without them?

More is more when it comes to layers...as I've shown here. Love adding dimension with papers and frilly trims.. Yummy seam binding from Etsy and of course a tiny tag! K&Company and The Girls Paperie papers. YUM!

I could make these cards all day long.. SO, won't you join our party and play along? The Shabby Girls have some fab inspiration. Don't forget to visit and be inspired!

homegrown flowers...TSTR #108

"April showers bring May flowers" Or so the saying goes. Over at The Shabby Tea Room the challenge this week is handmade flowers. Lenet is our Shabby Girl host and she requests that we USE THE PHOTO as inspiration and to INCLUDE A HANDMADE FLOWER(S).

Our fab sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps. The winner of our challenge will receive 5 free digi images! I used the Easter Egg stamp, and coloured it in with my water colour pencils. Fun!

My PTI cupcake die came in handy again.. a new use, as a basket to hold my Easter egg! Love versatility:)

My handmade flower element? Rolled felt flowers with little leaves adorn my Easter basket..

I hope you will join our challenge this week. Don't forget to stop by the other Shabby Girls blogs for some more great inspiration:
